Scribus is an incredibly powerful Desktop Publishing program similar to Microsoft Publisher and Pagemaker. I had to tell it to make the following substitutions while reading the file: Once you tell Scribus to make the substitutions, it remembers them for future files. The design was then rebuilt using Scribus. If your printer has the wrong combination of Orientation and Flip (or whatever terminology your printer uses), the pages will not align properly. The way to get around this is to make each chapter (and the front matter) as separate PDFs then put the PDFs together for the final book.
